of the same terms. It is impossible to label someone alt-right or far-left because the words are meaningless. Unless there is a collective, agreed upon definition, those words could mean one of many things. Whats alt right to the far left could be whats centrist to the left and far left to the alt right.

yeah so don't get caught up in semantics arguments and focus on communicating strong and clear ideas. if your conversation partner doesn't do that ghost them immediately.

People keep changing the definitions so I don't see that happening. The alt-right originally was a bunch of trolls using meme magic, then one went after CNN. CNN got butthurt, then gets a nobody with a couple hundred views on his youtube videos, Richard Spencer, and labels his dumbass the "leader of the alt-right". Due to his white supremacist talking points, the entirety of the alt-right get labeled as nazis. Another reason of why CNN is fake news.

A bigger problem is no one agrees on when the left goes too far. For example.

A far right position that damn near everyone can agree goes too far is: this is a white nation founded by white people and white people have proved to be the most capable throughout history we need to make sure our political and corporate leadership stays white.

Batshit crazy far right talk, everyone knows it. Here is something equally crazy from the other side.

All of western society is based on oppression and patriarchy, the people in power only have power because they took advantage of minorities and women and also colonialism. We should mandate that there is equal representation at all levels of power for minorities and women to make up for the years of oppression that keep these groups out of power.

These are both equally crazy positions but only one will people admit is crazy, the far left position people act as if is its reasonable. In fact they have already started passing laws to enforce their equality of outcome ideology.

What's that you have a more qualified male candidate you want on your board of directors? Doesn't matter in California, the law demands equal outcome, so hire that less qualified woman or else.

alt right: a loose group of white supremacists, neo-nazis, holocaust deniers who somehow also want the holocaust to happen again, neo-confederates, and other far right and nationalist groups. they typically present themselves as good-looking contemporary young hipsters to make fascism palatable to a younger and mainstream audience.

far left: several branches of socialism. the main branches are marxist-leninists and anarcho-communists.
