Board 8 > Hollow Knight was pretty cool (spoilers)

Beat the game yesterday, 17 hours 79% completion. Didn't use any guides. Played around a bit more after that for a couple of hours and got the awakened dream nail and some other stuff. Pretty sure I've been to nearly every major area in the game.

I think I got lucky at the beginning of the game finding the Dashmaster and Cyclone Slash pretty much at the beginning of the game. It made the game surprisingly easy and was really fast to navigate everything. I think the only fights I really had any problems with was Hornet 2 which took maybe 10 tries. Every other boss I think I killed on my first go or within like 2-3 tries. It's surprising to me having beaten the game to read it takes a lot of people like 40 hours to get the bad ending. The map is big but it's not overwhelmingly big-- there are stag stations and shortcuts everywhere. Pretty much any place you go you'll find some sort of upgrade or something and there aren't too many areas that are gated.

It was an absolutely amazing game, but I'm not sure I'll go for 100%. The last couple hours running around fighting the warrior ghosts and leveling up the dream nail are kind of boring. I'm not really finding new areas other than The Hive which I stumbled upon thanks to my tendency to use cyclone slash to kill everything. It's felt like filler. Pretty sure I know where to go next but not sure I'm still interested. Is it worth it to continue?

i don't remember what gets you 100%, did you do the white palace area and everything super far underground?

i also played before dlc so idk how that counts for %

i think 100% adds a new form of final boss?

Haven't been to the White Palace but I'm pretty sure that's what's next. I went to The Abyss and got the shade thing that lets me go through black barriers before I even beat the game. Made the Watcher Knights pretty easy, not sure how many tries it would have taken me without it (well, that and the extended invincibility frames charm+quick soul recharge+soul on damage+poisonous spores which makes it real easy to cheese bosses). I presume for the white palace I do some shit in the palace area by the abyss to access it. I think I may be burned out though. It wasn't super fun running around the map fighting the ghosts.

If you only got the Awakened Dream Nail after you "beat" the game, there's still some content left for you to do to get the true ending!

There's also a considerable amount of stuff that was added in free updates that you likely didn't encounter yet (mainly Grimm and the Godhome, if either of those ring a bell,) but I'd prioritize the true ending stuff if you're feeling like you're just about done with the game.
