I'm surprised watches are even a thing still. They can look fashionable, sure, but how many times in your life are you going to be somewhere that you couldn't just take the extra second and check your phone? How important is it to even know the time anyway? Most of the time it doesn't matter to me unless I need to go to work or something. >_>

A watch is much more useful than a phone. You just glance at a watch and you know the time (which is very important in society). A phone you have to reach into your pocket and take it out, hopefully not dropping it. And hopefully you're not sitting down or wearing jeans.

a phone is more like a pocket watch though, not a wristwatch apple watch is still able to show the time, but it's also useful for working out/calling emergency services/messaging/listening to music/and many other things. in a way if you're a "mans man" it's all about the utility of a product, and by that standard you'd think that maybe you would reason wearing an expensive piece of jewelry is actually kind of not manly at all compared to what an apple watch can do. i'm not sure why they are associated so strongly with manliness if men are to be associated with this idea of utility. i think it's just a lot of advertising that has warped peoples brains. i mean there is this whole culture of passing down watches (which would not be dissimilar to a mother passing down jewelry). but i don't think it's fair to call people douche like for enjoying jewelry. you do you. --- ...
