When I say "Smash fanbase", I'm mostly thinking of the competitive players who actually attend tournaments, and I've only had positive experiences with that group and have been to many tournaments in more than one location. Are you sure you only had a positive experience because you also smell as bad as them and you fit in well? ~~I'm just trolling though over that Kotaku article. It just doesn't work that way. It's human nature to be annoying and to be annoyed. There is no model fanbase that isn't terrible except for things that are either quite niche or largely defunct. I expect though that there's other fanbases out there which are great for similar reasons which I just don't know about, but yeah. (Note the reasons I give below imply that it's not a fanbase known to the public at large, and I expect there's other stuff out there that meets similar criteria) But anyways, I think what made that community great was that it was a relatively small game within the already niche hobby that is TCG's. The fanbase was small, but the people that did play were very dedicated, and that combined with some good event/tournament support from the creators meant that it was a very close-knit community. Something else that also helped is that soon after the game launched someone made a Facebook group for the game's community which was both well-advertised and attended. Most people that played the game seriously across the country joined the Facebook group which made it easy for everyone to feel connected despite it being a relatively small group in the grand scheme of things, and also using Facebook (which is not anonymous) rather than Reddit or something may have served to dampen the impact of certain aspects of human nature Anyways that's more than I wanted to say about this, but I really did love being a part of this community while it lasted. --- Congratulations to BK_Sheikah00, this year's guru to achieve contest enlightenment! <cite>pyresword posted [p:911280421] in Worst Fanb...
