The Avengers defend NY and stop the army from getting the Infinity Stone
Then Thanos gets the Infinity Stone and kills half of everyone.
Ultron tries to take over the world.
Then Thanos gets the Infinity Stone and kills half of everyone.
Thor defeats his evil sister to save the day
Then Thanos instantly gets the Infinity Stone and kills half of everyone.sister.
Dr Strange traps giant space face in a time loop to stop him
Then Thanos gets the Infinity Stone and kills half of everyone.
Hydra infects SHIELD and plans to take over the world
Then Thanos gets the Infinity Stone and kills half of everyone
Killmonger is foiled from giving black people weapons all over the world.
Then Thanos gets the Infinity Stone and kills half of everyone.

I mean let's take a second and imagine that up to Infinity War, the villains won.

Say Thor's sister killed Thor and ate Loki.
Say Hydra did kill Capn' and take over SHIELD.
Say Killmonger did arm black people all over the world
Say whatever the fuck happened in Iron Man and Hulk movies happened, I can't remember they were kinda meh. I think one of them had a guy with a laserwhip? Say he won.

I mean the result would still be "Then Thanos gets the Infinity Stone and kills half of everyone."

Kinda renders all the trials and sacrifices and tribulations of the previous movies to be a little trival. Including those of the villains.

I guess that's the nature of "We gotta raise the stakes" sequels tho, and yes I know in Part 2 they will undo everything Thanos did because Marvel is ballless. But it's just kinda hilarious to watch old Marvel movies now.

I mean BP and Thor 3 especially are hilarious.

Thor goes through all that shit and character development and stuff to stop his sister and save the day, followed instantly by "And then everyone died anyway lol whoops." Like watching Aliens and Alien 3 back to back.

And BP goes through all that stuff to become King and stop Killmonger and set Wakanda on the right path, and then just dies.

Actually the sad thing is, if Hydra had won, Thanos would have lost for sure because Hydra wouldn't have refused to sacrifice Vison like a bunch of pansies.

"Oh we can't sacrifice you to save literally half the universe, meanwhile outside the window thousands of Wakandians are sacrficing themselves so we don't have to sacrifice you to save literally half the universe"

Don't get me wrong, It's a good movie. It's just kinda funny if you look at the previous MCU movies.

Would be kinda like playing Mass Effect if the only ending was "And then the Reapers won and everyone died."

But they undo it rendering it pointless. Thanos wants to lose. He leaves and goes to farm on a distant unknown planet.

These are movies, not comic books.

And what's wrong with continuity? That's what the enormously successful MCU is based on

right? save Asgard... oh wait only a quarter of them get to live
Thor learns his power is not tied to his hammer, first thing he does once he loses is try to get an even bigger weapon

But if they undid it with bad guys winning theyd still win.

Thanos does however make any guarding of stones pointless because he got them all by himself and slapped everyone away who tried to stop him.

Yeah I was WTFing at that.

He says he has to do it to kill Thanos but then he uses it to fight generic grunts.

And it's like "You were downing generic grunts without a weapon a minute ago?"

But Marvel gotta sell the latest merch
