The Nintendo Classic consoles were successful because they incorporated two kinds of games: the nostalgic and the timeless. Basically, if there isn't a game that aged well, then it better damn well have that nostalgia factor (think Star Fox on the SNESc).

Intelligent Qube was a great game and I'm actually pretty glad to see it on there. Grand Theft Auto I'd include mostly because of its historical importance but I'd be perfectly fine with it being swapped out for a Tomb Raider or Tomba.

The voice acting elevates it from being an average game to being a good one. Probably the best voice acting in a video game until... maybe Final Fantasy XII?

Now to be fair I never actually had a PS1 so there might be hidden gems there I just don't know about, but nothing there really jumps out at me.

Revelations Persona is kind of neat though.

Destruction Derby was great, that was the one I was most excited to see on the list. (Though it's been so long, I doubt it holds up.)

Decent list though it seems a little heavy with early games. Also they should've went with Twisted Metal 2 and Tekken 2 if there were only doing one of each.

Yeah without Crash or Spyro on there due to the HD remakes, you really have to include Tomba. Though if you're selling on nostalgia, I still think you suck it up and get Crash on there.

Tomb Raider was far more iconic than GTA before the third game came out.

PaRappa is another major differentiator that still looks great today and is oozing late 90s nostalgia. Ditto for THPS.

I have no idea why SotN is not on there. That's a fucking travesty.

I think Tomb Raider is a big omission. PaRappa the Rapper too.
Not sure why they had Battle Arena Toshinden over Soul Edge.
I personally would have liked a Colony Wars game in there. Maybe something like Fear Effect or Silent Hill too. Parasite Eve, Bushido Blade, and Dino Crisis are other games I'd consider.

I'll be getting it. Me and my wife have a much smaller television wall mounted in our bedroom and we just have our SNES classic wired up currently so this will still be fun.

Half the time our other televisions are used by the kids or one of us using the PS4 or Switch or Netflix anyways

Persona on PS1 is my only exposure to the series. It was a fun game. I think.

List seems okay. No Chrono Cross is disappointing. I wonder if the lack of PaRappa was because of input lag concerns.

None of these are games I have firsthand nostalgia for, but collectively they're distinctly Sony. PS1 was a weird console for me. I guess I got one late in its life cycle, but also basically only ever had licensed kids games, mascot platformers, and demo discs. Finally playing through the non-Twin Snakes version of MGS is probably a worthy endeavor.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is one of only like three or four great games on that list so I'm not sure why people are pointing it out as a bad pick. I assume they either haven't played it or aren't into puzzle games.
