It's so annoying how hard it is now to find regular deodorant. Why are people still using antiperspirant? You're rubbing aluminum into your pores to block sweat. Do you comprehend how bad that could be for you? I fully believe that it's what causes Alzheimer's.

It never even worked for me either. I'd sweat right through it, and the shit would sweat onto my shirt, so the armpits of all my shirts would have it caked on there and be all gross. It's garbage.

Since switching to regular deodorant years ago, I don't even worry about armpit sweat anymore. I really think antiperspirant causes you to sweat more.

I don't use it anymore. But if I was going to an interview or something really important, I'd probably wear it to be on the safe side.

Stopping your body from being able to do something that it's naturally supposed to do is a bad idea. I'm with ya on this one.

Don't forget the probable links to breast cancer. For once I agree with you, antiperspirant is a bad idea.

Sprouts and Whole Foods usually carry plain deodorants, if you can't find them anywhere else. Usually plant-based and organic and eco-friendly and shit, too.

I agree with this. I used to sweat constantly, and I was very self-conscious about it, but a year or so ago I just decided to stop using anti-perspirant and it changed everything. I barely sweat at all now unless I'm doing something rigorous. I used to sweat just sitting at my desk all day.

Yeah exactly! I'd be sitting at my desk feeling sweat dripping down.

People have been getting Alzheimer's throughout recorded history. Antiperspirant is not that old.

I'm a heavy sweater and it keeps my pits dry. Also there is no clear study that shows aluminum is linked to Alzheimer's or increased risk of cancer, with the exception of breast cancer and women who shave their pits.

https://www.alzdiscovery.org/cognitive-vitality/blog/is-there-a-link-between-aluminum-and-alzheimers

Aluminum is an element abundantly present in the earth. It occurs naturally in food and water and is widely used in products ranging from cans and cookware to medications and cosmetics. Some observational studies suggested a link between brain levels of aluminum and Alzheimer's disease [1]. Since the association was found, many studies have investigated whether aluminum increases the risk for Alzheimer's. The findings are far from clear.

ANTIPERSPIRANTS

Aluminum salts in antiperspirants dissolve into the skin's surface and form a temporary barrier within sweat ducts, which stops the flow of sweat to the skin's surface. No studies have directly examined the link between aluminum-containing antiperspirant use and Alzheimer's risk. However, a few studies have evaluated the link between antiperspirant use and breast cancer. Two studies found no increase in breast cancer risk [19][20], but one other study reported that patients who used antiperspirant products more frequently and longer on shaved underarms were diagnosed with breast cancer at an earlier age [21]. Studies show that aluminum salts in antiperspirants are poorly absorbed by the body, and the little that is absorbed is flushed out by the kidneys [22][23]. However, if you regularly shave with a razor, aluminum may be more readily absorbed via small nicks and abrasions. To limit potential risks, avoid application of antiperspirants shortly after shaving and limit excessive use.

I sweat profusely with regular old deodorant. Gotta use antiperspirant stick AND antiperspirant spray.

No stains on my clothes neither. That was constantly an issue with regular old deodorant.
