Hope all you Hunt owners picked up Spencer Ware.

I didn't check who had Hunt, but Suprak picked up Ware early this afternoon. I'm not sure whether to be upset or impressed that he's playing both Ware and Gus Edwards this week. At least he has other RBs of similar quality (at least in terms of Yahoo's projections.)

Now if I could just have a couple high quality receivers drop into my lap, I'd be set...as it is, I'm wishing I could play a TE in one of my WR slots.

I got Ware in my money league after Hunt went down, but couldn't they have waited 2 more weeks to release this. God dammit now my Trinity if Gurley, hunt, and Connor is shattered for week 1 of playoffs.

In the league I'm dominating I had Kareem Hunt. I did manage to snag Ware though but I had to drop Howard to do it (was pre Hunt release and Hunt had undroppable status and my league has a 4 RB limit)

In the league where I am a really outside shot to make the playoffs it kinda helps me as a team I need to lose had him. Although they have Conner, Cook and Lewis as their other RB's so it's not as big a hit to them as it could have been

There was a guy in my league who I tried to trade Mahomes and/or Evans for his Melvin Gordon, talked about Boyd for Cohen, etc...

we ended up not trading. He had Kareem Hunt.

We are 3rd and 4th in the league, but he's looking like he's going to lose now with Hunt dropping.

His story is that she was banging on his door calling him a racial word for a black person...

Which goes to the old topic. If someone called you a racist term, would you hit them? Or does someone deserved to be punched because they are a Nazi and thus are racist?

Then again. That is his side of the story and quite possibly false.

The story I read was that he threw her out of the room because she wouldn't hook up with one of the people with him. At that point she flipped out and called him the n-word causing the whole thing. What isn't said and I imagine is the case is that they likely called her some derogatory terms as part of being kicked out if that truly was the reason she was kicked out.

I think the whole thing is ridiculous. She shouldn't be throwing around the n-word but in an argument is it any worse than what likely got said to her? Obviously I'm assuming here but I don't think it's a stretch to think in that context she would have been called something along the lines of sleeping around a lot / a streetwalker (i'm going to assume gamefaqs would auto-flag the actual words I want to use)

I wish when they released these videos they had sound. Or you know, released the part of the argument outside his damn room which would give us the needed context

There are two stories.

His story.

They went drinking all day at clubs. Upon going back to his apartment/room to drink, he discovered her and her friend were only 19 and since they were under 21 they kicked them out. She mad about being kicked out was screaming and banging on the door calling him racial slurs and saying he ain't shit yadda yadda. He came out and the scene escalated after she hit another girl that was a friend of his that tried to de-escalate it.

Her story

They went drinking at clubs all day and he wanted to continue the party so they all went back to his apartment / room. He wanted her to sleep with his friend, and she was not cool with it. So they threw her and her friend out of the room. She was crying and didn't know what to do because she had no money to call for an Uber and was too drunk to drive so she just stayed in the hallway crying and upset. Then they came out and the scene escalated to what you saw.

There is a video also of a girl (her friend I think) talking to the police asking to press charges and the cops saying they couldn't at the time and her asking them to watch the security cameras to prove what happened and them saying they can't because the hotel is a private property and they can't view their cameras without a subpoena. She also questions the fact they took her phone and destroyed it and why they weren't being charged for that.

Of the 3 teams I need to lose 2 are projected to lose and 1 to win. The 1 projected to win was projected to lose before any game started but his opponent has done terrible

Well I'm for sure in the playoffs in one of my money leagues where I was heavily favored to win it until this week. I had Hunt and Conner as my RB's. This is a 16 man league so replacing 1 RB nevermind 2 is nigh on impossible.

I have Spencer Ware and I can shift Aaron Jones from Flex but I think it is highly unlikely I get the Steelers next RB up on waiver claim

I also had to drop Jordan Howard to snag Spencer Ware and he was immediately claimed off waivers.

Assuming Pleasedon'tbreakaleg doesn't outscore you by 46. Projection is for a difference of 40, current difference is 47. Basically you need Alshon Jeffery to not wet the bed.

For example, say Corrik was substantially better than who I would face instead. He came on late and had all the best late season pick ups and was a monster. But if I benched my last three players against the guy who could leapfrog him into the playoffs, it would mean Corrik would miss out on the playoffs entirely and I wouldn't have to face him first round? Dick move but understandable or dick move and I'm a horrendous human being?

Again, I'm not doing it, it was just a thought I had when looking at matchups this week.

I totally know guys who have deliberately lost matches to end up on the opposite side of the bracket.

Personally I don't think it's a bad thing unless it fucks someone else over from getting into the playoffs. Like if you losing to them guarantees them in over someone else. At that point I feel you have to field your strongest team. If you losing to them has no implications other than where you place in the playoffs then as a commissioner I'd frown upon it but allow it.

In your example situation I don't think you can do it though since it affects who is in or out. Although I know of some people who would just say that's playing to win

We actually have side pot for highest score each week to discourage it and to encourage eliminated teams to still try

If H2H results were the tiebreaker instead you could play an even weaker team in the playoffs >_>

Yeah, it would bump Corrik out in favor of Future Playoff Champs, so it definitely affects playoffs much more than just my individual placement in the brackets. It would be better strategy, actually, to dive and stop Corrik from getting in if he was truly beasting at the end, but I don't think I'd do it just because it seems kinda like a shitty thing to do. I was just curious what everyone else's thoughts were.

Until I'm the person it screws over, I'd say it's sound tactics. There are only so many things you can do to improve a season after the draft. That's a niche scenario, but it's, in a way, your prerogative as someone who has a game to burn.

Almost always banned in leagues and the league administrator sets your lineups. Just as banned as being eliminated and trading your best players to a team in the playoffs to help them win.

Trading your best players to another team benefits you in no way and just screws other people over. There is no reason to do it.

One of those is collusion which is always banned and the other is not.

One of those has rationale within the league and the strategy of the game (I will play an easier opponent in the playoffs and it'll be easier for me to win). One of them is just bribery.

I'm not saying you should do the hypothetical, but it isn't outright subverting the integrity of the league like your situation is.
