Looking at some matches, Dedede once lost to Pit, who once lost to Cecil.

Meanwhile Ocelot has beat legit stuff like Jill, Kefka (ok maybe skip that one) and barely lost to Red.

This. I had the former even in my bracket, though I feel like I might've entertained the latter upset for Oracle after seeing Western characters bombing so hard thus far.

Still, I feel like Shepard has become "one of ours", if only by virtue of having had the fortune to be involved in some of the most memorable matches in recent history. With only ME1, Shepard was predictably weak in his/her debut, and wound up in 4th place...in the infamous "Magus lost to a bag of sand" match. Next contest, however, Shepard managed to finish 20th in the raw X-Stats, by virtue of putting up a good number against Pikachu, who then turned around and got a largely expected overperformance against sprite-round Snake. Then came 2013, where Shepard was the third contestant in Link-Draven (and as such, gave the match the entirely apropos initials of LSD). That's still our most recent character battle, but ME3-Undertale and ME2-Starcraft were both highlights of BGE3.
