Thank-you for your reply. We look forward to speaking with you, and will phone you at 10:00am EDT on Wednesday, October 31. I would like to confirm that the best number to reach you at is <my phone number>: please let me know if this is not correct. You do not need to prepare anything for this interview, although we request that you find someplace quiet for the interview so that you will be able to hear us properly.

Definitely not normal.

I'd email whomever you were in contact with about the interview and say something along the lines of "Hey just following up. I hadn't received a phone call from you all yet regarding our scheduled phone interview."

Something like that. It's possible that they called you and either it didn't go through (because cell phones) or they didn't type the right number in.

I just got my phone changed last weekend and I had sim card issues, but I called my phone company and got it sorted, and had a friend call me to make sure it worked :\ Plus I've been texting, so I don't think it's that.

I'll shoot him an e-mail tho.

It's a government organization, and a good one to work at from what I've heard. I was psyched to get an interview.

I'll hold off sending the e-mail for another, like, hour, but if he doesn't call in that time I'll ask him to reschedule.

Well I meant more that it's possible that you weren't getting a good signal whenever they happened to call for example. I've actually had that happen to me before unfortunately.

For the future though, if this happens again, I would email the recruiter after the first 10 minutes of them not calling. That way you can make sure that you didn't miss their call.

Possible it was a mistake on their part. I would have sent an email after 10-15 minutes.

Not your fault though. Hopefully they will reschedule.

He got back to me this morning. He said we doesn't know why I wasn't called and will call me himself this afternoon.

>_> I have work this afternoon but only after 2 so I told him I would be available at noon or 1. Worst case is I'll take a bit off work but... If it's like, half an hour, that's a significant amount of time to take off work...

Well we started at noon, and it took about twice as long as he thought it would take. Is that a good sign? I thought it went well.
