I really don't like someone entertaining jester. Like I said, that can be used as a get out of jail free card for literally any scummy behavior, and I often saw it used as an excuse to not go after scum "I thought he was jester, that's why I didn't vote blatant scum...."

FFNut being new to B8 meta would justify him not knowing how things go around here, but Sheep really should know we don't do jester. It just seems like a way to accuse someone of being scum, without actually risking putting his vote out there.

Yeah, which is why I shouldn't really be considering it. But Puns behaviour is typical of a moderately decent player playing jester. However, Puns is more than moderately decent and could get himself lynched far more effectively and in a far less strange manner, which strikes me as even more odd because I can't think of many scenarios or roles with which what he's done so far would be particularly useful.

To answer DYL and Puns' requests. All of this is basically just pure wifom. The sort of stuff that, to me, makes newer players vote someone, or that crappy jesters try and do to get lynched. Neither of those things make any real sense whatsoever as any alignment. It's likely that I'm overthinking this all, and if I particularly felt Puns was scum I would be voting him already. But it just seems off and I can't tell why.

It just seems like to me you're open to the possibility of jester, even if you're not outright calling him it. It's like you're saying "Eh, Puns is suspicious for some reason but I don't want to pursue that."

That being said Sbell also brought jester up and I can't say I like that. Bomb is one thing, but why even consider jester knowing we don't use that role?

1) from a game mechanic perspective it would be incredibly difficult to balance the existence of such a role.

2) It's unfairly anti-mafia in a way because of how it unfairly punishes them for engineering your mislynch.

3) You could be lying in an attempt to scare scum from night killing you. This is something a strong town power might do, particularly a doctor who cant rely on anyone else to save him.

4) Even if the role does exist exactly as you've described, then it means you have horrifically misplayed your hand. Like astoundingly bad play on your part. Just. Awful. The best use of your power would be to eat a night shot from scum. A vague hint at protection could have accomplished this and scum would be very badly hurt by wasting a NK on confirming someone who could then continue to vote.

So yeah, you are lying or you are admitting to being terrible at this game.

I thought for a second it could be unbalancing for late game if both were still alive.
But I have fallen for this host meta before, so dont take my word on that. For all I know scum has a counter to such roles
