I realize there are a few popular characters who havent made the cut, but I dont know if there are enough viable characters to make a new game.

whatever their next console is will get one too. they have plenty to work with in terms of new characters. plus they been branching out so who knows what could join in. they added metal gear, sonic, street fighter so could get more from those series and other non nintendo series

more from mario, megaman, donkey kong and hell there's a lot of nintendo characters still. we just got pirahna plant so if they add that then why not add in all these other random enemies we get. they could add in a damn gooba if they wanted.

and pokemon alone gives like endless characters. they only been doing like 1 new one for whatever the new gen is but there's plenty of others they could add in. blaziken, infernape, and other more human looking pokemon will work. or even add in like eevee and arcanine and whatever else.

To be fair, there are lots of less important characters from various franchises they could put in. I expect people love it when some obscure character that they recognise gets in. I mean, I think it would be great if they put in an Egg Robo, or a Claris / Elliot, or Rockford. To be honest, though, I'd be shocked if any of those apart from maybe the Egg Robo made it in.

To be fair, several people in this topic have implied that Nintendo is a whorehouse, just churning out games for even more $$$, but if that was completely true, they wouldn't wait 5 fucking years at a time to release a new Smash game.

If anything, Activision-Blizzard, and particularly Capcom, are the whores. I mean, there were 6 different versions of Street Fighter II. 6! And what the hell was Dead Rising 2: Off the Record meant to be?
