I look at it is another example of gamers being whiny ass man children.

I'm not a Diablo guy, but the game actually looks decent. I'd probably play it. No one is actually talking about the game itself.

Yeah I get it, no serious gamer wants a mobile game. And Blizzards unveiling of it is amusing at best. Everyone wants to see a big company with pie on its face. They definitely could have handled that reveal a lot better, but I don't blame the dudes for being surprised at the crowd reaction. The reaction though is just trying to make this a bigger deal than it really is.

Gamers are wieners though, aren't they?

I think it's hilarious the stink and the nerd outrage people are making about this, and the fact that people are upset they didn't just reveal Diablo 4. It's so funny and sad how real that is. All you have to do to appease these fucks is show them 1 minute of footage of a game they won't play for years.

But you try to show them a good little mobile game they'll have likely pretty soon and they cry like a toddler who can't have dessert until he finishes his veggies.

Whole thing is hilarious to me. Gamers need to grow the fuck up, stop making big stinks about nothing issues. No one should ever take this people seriously.

Everything from people that have actually played it at this point has mostly been "this game is pretty cool but they only gave us a small bit to try out at the moment," at least that I've seen.

I could honestly care less, Diablo has always been the epitome of dullness in the lootgame-arpg genre. I get why people are upset about it but blizzard has a surprisingly good track record of making shitty looking games pretty playable by the time they're actually coming out

I have no stake in this and I don't care about the franchise.

But the fans being disappointed are probably not wrong to complain.

The world of gaming is a strange one. Gamers are the most plowable target audience out there because have have been conditioned for decades to accept horrible businsess practices.

If you read a book or watched a movie or listened to some music or ate some food with some friends and then came out afterwards and said "Man I didn't like that." people might not agree with you, but if they said "Man you're so entilted! Stop whining and like the movie you didn't enjoy! Then give them more money!" you'd consider them to be incredibly weird and possibly never talk to them again.

However this is the norm in the world of gaming. It's not only considered acceptable but it in fact common if not the most common response to any criticism.

You need to pay not only for the content but extra lopped off content. Buy DLCs, pre-order, online only, that feature is no longer supported, our online servers are down so you can't play offline. Your views and statements will be censored, if you're a critic you will be demonitized, sued and blackballed if you speak up. What you want doesn't matter. And you have to accept it.

Gaming is legitimately the most (successful) anti-consumer form of media I am aware of.

As a result when things like this happen, my benefit of the doubt tends to lean with the fans. 10 times out of 11 they are in the right and people are just shouting at them to roll over so they can have the other side of their face stomped on.

There's an old saying "In the Kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man is king." and rolling with that, the world of gaming is a blind kingdom, so I kinda feel support/creedance on paper to anyone who can see. Even if their vison is poor and they walk into a rake.

That's probably the only thing they did worthy of note and criticism. Completely agree with that. But again, we as gamers we don't have the ability to separate the small issues and deal with them. Also didn't people hate Diablo 3? I know all my friends jumped ship to Path of Exile because any other Diablo clone will do.

Blizzard fans have every right to be upset at the company theyve supported for years and years taking advantage of them and flubbing with a beloved IP. They sold tickets to blizzcon on the tailcoats of misleading teasers.

I care very little, but my expectations died a long time ago and Im less passionate about video games than when I was younger. But I get it.

This is a very reasonable post. The only thing I would add is that the audience at Blizzcon paid a lot of money to be there (e.g. $200 tickets, lodging, etc.) and traditionally those people have been hardcore PC gamers. Blizzard knows this. They even admitted they anticipated bad feedback, but they didn't know how bad it would be. All the rest of the negativity, via online comments, could be just what happens when word of mouth spreads rapidly.

But some people are acting like a shitty mobile game is some huge crime against humanity. Who cares? Just don't play it. A lot of big gaming franchises these days have some sort of mobile spin-off. It doesn't impact mainline games at all because they're not developed by the same people.
