The only reason why people complain as hard as they do is because they believe their opinion is some legitimate holy words that people should all listen to. It's a form of entitlement for sure.

I haven't cared about other people's opinions about my opinions in like twenty years, so no biggie.

Also, I found this to be more the case for people complaining about their votes not mattering, and therefore they don't see the need to vote. What they're actually saying is that they're butthurt that their vote is worth as much as any other random joe.
