From there, he just picked the characters to be in the bracket. That's about all we know about how characters were selected. --- This was not the best year for my bracket. I was really only a Nintendo kid and 2002 was still early in the days of internet and I hadn't really familiarized myself with a lot of the more obscure characters in the bracket so a lot of them I assumed were characters that were really popular and I just assumed I didn't know better. This is basically the opposite effect of the Dunning-Kruger syndrome - I felt that I didn't know anything when in fact I actually knew everything I needed to know. Hell I think I might have picked Serious Sam over Mega Man just because I loved Mega Man and I couldn't really believe that he could pull this upset over the 3 seed who was a character from a game I'd heard was pretty good.
