This. How do people not understand that announcing a mobile game at BLIZZCON, a convention for the hard core fans, as the FINISHER, where usually the best of the best is announced was a real stupid tone deaf idea?

No they aren't. They just said that they're working on more mobile titles for their other IP's too. That doesn't mean all of their games will be on mobile.

Here's what people don't understand. No one would make a stink about Diablo Immortal or mobile versions of any other blizzard titles if we get confirmation of PC games.

PC and console gamers do not hate and think about mobile games and its players as much as some would like you to believe. No ones saying these games shouldn't exist in general. We just don't want the impression from developers that mobile holds priority over the definitive series of games.

I hate to give them credit, but Bethesda showed how to handle mobile announcements with Fallout Shelter and Blades this year.

This whole thing could have been easily avoided.
