Funny thing

Senate races give power equally across all states, regardless of population. This was designed so that smaller states would always have an equal voice in one section of the government.

House races give power to states with the most people, and as such represent the actual will of the majority of Americans. This is done so that every citizen will have one part of government where their voice and vote directly matters.

So functioning as intended? All this thread shows is that TC couldn't pass Civics 101.

It's accurate. It goes back to the empty land thing. Democrats represent the more densely populated but relatively smaller areas around Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

This country is a union of states solidified with a central federal government. That's why LA, Chicago and NY, dispite disproportionate population, do not get to speak for the people that live in rural areas on federal matters. Its why each state has two senators, and a proportionate number of House seats based on population.

Yup, and the mid state is much more conservative than Philly and Pittsburgh. There's a reason that area of the state is sometimes called Pennsyltucky. I read the area around Pittsburgh is more conservative than it used to be these days, though.

Feel free to move to one of those red districts and cast a blue vote. I left Chicago for Minnesota because my vote was useless there. I helped my new district elect a repub rep in a close race.

Dems are gonna have to live in these dead end flyover states if they want actual change.

Like North Dakota is less than 800,000 people.
And California is like 40 million people.

If California dropped a million people to North Dakota, North Dakota would be democrat easily.

I'm seeing just from that map, Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada with an obvious shift. A lot of turnover in the Minnesota/Wisconsin/Iowa/Illinois area too. Then there's just the obvious fact that Democrats have a 26-seat advantage.
