Honestly, I feel bad for Keighly

The years where he did it small so he wouldn't need a shit ton of sponsors, everyone treated it like a joke and said he didn't take it seriously.

Then he got all these sponsors on board to make it a big award show, and everyone said he treated it like a joke because they had commercials all the time and because of the Schick Razor Robot.

I mean, don't get me wrong. There is a lot to criticize. I thought the year he gave Hideo Kojima a bigger sendoff than Iwata even though he died was in pretty poor taste. And the fact that they prioritize shit like youtuber of the year and esports people over actual game genres is odd.

But it still kinda sucks cause I don't think people would be happy even if he didn't do those things.
