Smash plateaued with Brawl. The roster was at its most fresh with addition(s) like Zero Suit Samus.

And let's not even mention WoL is heavily piggybacking off the innovation brought into the series by SSE.

Modes you'll play a handful of times. The Wii U had the option for a bettercontroller, more stages, and obviously a bigger screen.

I actually played Classic Mode and Smash Run quite a bit compared to Wii U's Classic and Smash Tour. But that's just me.

melee was still a better party game due to brawl having bad items and stages.

and also due to it playing like fucking garbage. most modern smash fans admit brawl was actually pretty bad. stop letting nostalgia cloud your judgement.

brawl being a better party game than melee had nothing to do with the core gameplay, though. it had everything to do with content and "newness"

if the next smash game had deep complex gameplay with a multitude of options, casuals would still flock to it because the new content is what they're after. this is why sakurai's vision was so damaging and horrific, what he did with brawl only hurt the game. he removed complexity and options, and that is never ever a good thing

I did not like brawls gameplay but I enjoyed the story mode.

Smash 4 had no story mode and that sucked.

Melee is easily and by far the best one

Smash four was just so.. nothing. Like I didnt care about playing it.

I used to have so much fun with melee. And brawl there was a reason to play with a story mode.

Smash four was just like.. whats the point? I didnt even buy cloud on the dlc. And I love cloud and ff7.
