Will it be good as my first Yakuza game? From what I understand its a remake of the Origional right?

Kiwami is a great place to start, because it introduces you to a lot of the core characters and concepts of the series. Yakuza 0 is basically a prequel. Get Kiwami 2 afterwards.

I think 0 is the best place to start at this point.

Kiwami is probably second best. It has little throwbacks to 0 that makes me think it was made for people that played 0 in mind.

I'm glad I started with 0 because of how great it was (probably one of my top 10 video games of all time) I was sucked into the series as a whole. Not sure if that would have happened if Kiwami was my first. Keep in mind that it's a remake of a PS2 game which was the very first game ever released in the series.

No it's not. You're literally the first person I've ever seen say this. 0 comes before all the others chronologically and you don't need to know anything about the others to play it. Also, Kiwami's gameplay is ass. Might as well play the better game first instead of chasing someone away with how bad Kiwami is to play.

Chronology isn't the way things are meant to be read. Should Birth By Sleep be the first Kingdom Hearts game because it takes place earliest in the timeline? Fuck no.

There are scenes in other Yakuza games that are flashbacks that you now play and live in in Zero. It's made primarily for people who know and recognize those scenes. It adds on to what fans already knew.

It's fine to start there, but you're patently wrong in claiming it's the best place to start.

Well Ive played a total of like 20 min of Kiwami and am enjoying it so I imagine Ill only see 0 as an upgrade.
