Board 8 > Been thinking about playing Xenogears

I just got off of a replay of FF6 after seeing that other guy in the board do so, and I did not expect myself to enjoy it so much more than I used to. Especially when I realized just how OP the other characters besides Terra and Sabin were. Course, now that its over, Im pretty much beat as to what to play next.

Then after seeing KOS-MOS reinforce her veteran status on these contests, I realized that I still had a copy of Xenogears that I had only played like half an hour of. And since Ive got nothing beter to do...should I?

Its either that or trying to do Tales of Symphonia. And both pretty much stumped me because 1: Cant properly internalize all the buttons and how I mapped them on my keyboard, and 2: Im squeamish about anime.

It's a great classic RPG.

Disc 2 is where all the issues really start but its still a fun game from start to finish.

Played it... maybe for 10 hrs.

Gameplay was very dated, but story was somewhat engrossing.

I remember thinking I was at the final boss multiple times throughout the game and then they're like nope here's another 10 hours

Its been a long time, but IIRC it was back to back gears fights with Miang and Ramsus. I remember being genuinely scared that I wasnt gonna be able to finish the game because I was either low level or my gears werent equipped right or something

Would be the best game ever if it weren't for Disc 2, but it's still one of the best video game stories ever.

It's absolutely unnecessary to completing VI.

Anyways, got the new file underway after finally hammering the emulator against my head enough for it to register X as Spacebar and O as B. I can't explain to you how weird that feels after FF7 has the two buttons for the opposite purpose. Next I'll probably have to do it all over again to switch the Menu and Jump buttons.

Bump. Managed to make it to where I was before. Sadly, I ended up missing a chest in the forest, and also didn't manage to de-equip Elly before she left. Why the heck are all the flags triggered by invisible fixed encounters?
