First off its a game. There are light role playing elements. You are given quests from sources and upon completing them you are rewarded in various ways.
There are online elements. For best results when playing the game, you are advised to be connected to the internet. That way you can access the online only bonus content. (The main game, atom shop, photo mode, ect.). Without online support, you can still access some content of the game, so nobody is left out. (options menu, title screen and opening screens, credits page). The game is mostly funded by microtranstions which allows users to enjoy free content down the line. All you have to do is pay a small $60 fee to buy the game (or 80 or 200 if you want the special editions of the game). You are free to customize your character using the atom shop with in game currency earned over the course of your playthrough, or by using your own money. These cosmetics are in the in game shop as opposed to unofficial free modded outfits. So all of this content is authorized and supported by the developers. --- It's thinking...
