"Despite concessions, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee are delightful reimaginings of the series' origins and a deep RPG in their own right. It makes a lot of smart improvements on the original Red, Blue and Yellow while holding on to what made them so special in the first place. Fans of the series might be let down by the lack of features they've come to expect, but Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee take the Pokemon formula in some exciting new directions."

"Returning to Kanto in Pokemon: Lets Go Pikachu or Eevee is almost as much fun and as heartwarming as I'd hoped it would be with its fresh, colorful design and new mechanics. Pikachu and Eevee are adorable, overpowered leads with the capability to learn some incredible moves, and they feel special both in and out of battle. The Pokemon Go catching system is a more relaxing way to fill out the Pokedex and grind for experience, and I never felt like I was missing out on battles because of it. Kanto is littered with charismatic trainers ready to fight. Some irritating UI design and issues with its motion controls add up to be a minor annoyance, but the addicting capture cycle and great challenges in the post-game keep me coming back to play."

Miraculously, I think it works, for both the little one curled up in that back seat and this big one, who really wishes he didn't have to drive."

I feel like if anything these early reviews giving out 8 out of 10 scores while including negative bits in the abstract is pretty damning for the game. I suspect general reviews will be much lower.

Meh, I didn't have any interest in the game to begin with. I'd only be interested if it was challenging without having to resort to Nuzlocke rules, but it sounds like most if the game is as easy or easier than the other mainline Pokemon games.

Many reviews have mentioned that the battles themselves are harder.

Its going to be an amazing game. I feel bad for the people who have convinced themselves that it wont be fun. That attitude never works out.

I don't like Pokemon at the best of times, but my brother in law does. So, when I showed him gameplay footage of these he totally lost interest because you can't battle wild pokemon anymore.

Based off the data mining, it doesn't matter how gameplay is, it's going to be extremely easy to get guaranteed 6 IV pokemon with increased shiny odds.
