I think most parents have a favorite, whether they admit it or not. Were you the favorite?

I was always the nerd who aimed for perfection on his schoolwork, which my parents appreciated. My sister was a good girl, but she had more of a life than I did, so there was more drama and tension between her and my parents, even if things were ultimately okay between them. So, I was the favorite, and my family openly joked about that fact.

What about you?

Being the "angel" of the family after my infancy (since I heard I was quite troublesome as a baby), yes.

Between my sister and me, I don't think either of us were the favorites. There were aspects of me that my parents liked more and there aspects of my sister that they liked more but regardless, all the hard work they've done was for the benefit of both my sister and myself.

While I've always related more with my dad and my younger brother always related more to my mom, they've always told us and our two older siblings that they love us equally.

I can believe that because I've seen how some parents with favorites treat the "other" child. My friend's grandparents definitely preferred his younger half brother and my nephew's mom pretty much told him that his baby half sister was her favorite.

It's interesting to see the variety of responses. Parents can be unpredictable creatures.

According to my dads ex GF I was his favourite.
From my own experience my younger sister was his favourite.
Now? None of that matters.

My parents treat me and my brother equally, but my sister is a bit of an asshole so she definitely gets less love.

Well.... I had a step brother but he was like almost 20 so I didn't really grow up with him and he ran off when I was 9 and never saw him again, so I was kind of an only child but I do believe my mom loves me a lot more than him, for reasons.

Supposedly, but my brother got away with a lot more shit so... YMMV. Apparently I was my grandma's favorite as well.

My adoptive dad had 2 kids from a previous marriage that he wasnt on good terms with so i mightve been while he was alive. My adoptive mother did not want kids though so any point after my dad died the answer is definitely no.

Growing up? Oh hell no.

In fact, during some family drama, my older sister (the first born, most gifted, clear favorite growing up, and generally a person I was expected/demanded to be more like) looked to me with some bewilderment at the way I was acting through the situation, and the way the family was responding to my conduct, and she said to me, "When did YOU become 'the good kid' ?!".

And yeah, I was a hard child to deal with - a standout problem child among three siblings that were hard to deal with. The difference between me and my older sister is that I grew out of it. So it's interesting how things can change.

I dunno about that. Had this conversation with my mom and sister one night. Arguing about who was the favourite. I ended up leaving it at "Well, she's loved me longer." (I'm older.)
