No she didnt do anything. Shes gotten much better with age, but shes still a bundle of energy. Cute as ever though<3

It was a valve on the front hose spicket. But the spicket is covered by a bush, so we couldnt see it whatsoever.

No leak or anything in the house obviously, so no warning signs of what was going on. Thankfully the water dept told us when they did.

Its 1700 gallons a day that ain't exactly a drip or a thin stream of water, surely there was an abnormal puddle of water coming from that area or something?

Its on the far side of the house, pretty busy(loud) street, and hidden behind the bush.

I pretty much never go over there

the bush was the culprit, we need to uproot it. and then proceed to burn it in a controlled manner so it doesn't spread everywhere.
it won't hurt anyone anymore.

I'd be a little concerned about the foundation or your sump pump at this point. Just because it didn't leak in, doesn't mean it can't pool up outside underground.

If your basement is unfinished, check for any efflorescence on the concrete over the next few weeks.

We had a broken pipe in the yard for a month before we noticed, the only reason we noticed was because our water bill was 5 times higher than usual... at least you noticed early TC.

This. Same thing happened to us but not for that long. And TC's is above ground. Sounds like a relatively lucky situation to me.

I keep thinking how much space/volume that much water would fill.

Like imagine a fish tank of that size. Would it fill a room? A house?
