I honestly forgot that the DS even had a sleep mode so my mistake there.

its almost like you were talking out of your ass like usual....

Nah, I had a DS for many years and then moved to the 2DS which was a steaming pile of shit.
It did play 2 Pokemon games tho.

My 2ds has a sleep mode has a switch clearly marked "sleep"

And nothing wrong with a 2ds I'm sure it's inferior to the 3ds but it's literally a budget 3ds so that's expected.

The fact that you had both a DS and a 2DS and still decided to so assuredly act like Nintendo's never had a system with a sleep mode is just more evidence that you were talking out of your ass, not a defense against such accusations.

While I do think texting without looking was much easier on a phone with actually buttons, its not that much harder on a smart phone. You get use to the button placements. The people walking into traffic would still be walking into traffic since they would still be looking at their phones while texting...

I have hated save points from the first time I ever encountered them. They are the zenith of bad design.

So all games should have the equivalent of save states then? In particular games being able to save just whenever kills any challenge to the game.

That's mistaking tedium for difficulty.

No it isn't. If I can literally save every two seconds I can just re load every time I get hit so I got full health when I get to the boss. Then I can in turn save after every hit I land on the boss so if I do lose I can load up my save and not have to fight the whole fight again.

It kills the challenge of certain games.

Some games you'll never hear me claim I beat them even though I did because I know I abused save states to accomplish it.

This is silly. When in battles, saving is usually turned off. I've never seen a game that let's you use the save feature in battle.

Save states are different than the games built in save features.

Eh you made it sound like you wanted games to be able to save at any time. Which is why I said that doesn't work in some games. Mostly action heavy games where check points or saving after a level is the norm.

Save states kill difficulty of old School platformers though like mega Man or Castlevania. You may call it artificial difficulty but old games had to do that elsewise people would beat them in a day and get bored of em.

Edit. If my fist sentence isn't the case I apologise

And I do. I still feel being able to save whenever you please just isn't meant for every type of game. Quick saves would solve tcs problem (the kind that delete when loaded). Sleep mode is also usually good enough.

Yeah this. Not all games are made to be a casual experience. Some devs want their game to be challenging and added things that could bypass the difficulty would ruin their intentions. Sure you could not do it. Just like if you feel legend of Zelda is too hard do a 3 hearts only run, but if the devs want it to be hard it should be hard.
