Really frustrating. I work at a place where I handle escalations and corrections to work done by other employees. And there are a lot of people who call me or email me one at a time to get things corrected on the same work.

"Hey this one thing isn't done right, can you fix it?"

"Sure"

"thanks"

*10 minutes later*

"Hey this other thing on this same job isn't done right. Can you fix it?"

"sure"

*repeat*

I mean, come on...I have to drop everything I'm doing and pull everything up on that job you're working on every single time you summon my help. Why can't you just review the whole thing and make a fucking list? So inefficient and wasteful of a process.

Anyone else deal with this?

Nah, it would be considered a bit impolite. I work with people who have many years work experience, make a good salary, are firmly implanted in their work, etc.

And technically, our line of business *wants* that extra work to justify our existence. But looking at it from a company-wide perspective, I don't know if I like that.

Really, I'm just trying to help them complete their work more efficiently. But, it's their baby, so whatever lol.

Its like that as a nurse too, more so when I get patients that can actually talk to me lol. Otherwise its their family.

because they understand most people's attention spans are only long enough to do the first task on the list and then the other one's don't get done without having to ask a second time.

Yeah it can be frustrating.

At the bank this is often a problem with underwriters. They tend to spoon feed me one at a time things they need instead of all at once.

Example

(Waiting a couple days in queue)
Them: Youre missing this.
Me: OK (contacts client and gets doc/info)
(Waiting days again)
Them: Oh and this too.
Me: God dammit.
