I have two 'active' applications. One, I really think will be interesting and will look better on a CV and will actually develop skills that I think will be useful. The other, is just a boring ol' office job. Not terrible but not exciting.

The second job has sent me an offer. I can respond and I'll have an internship locked in for January.

The first job has told me they're doing a security check. I hear from them pretty often but it's the weekend so idk. They haven't said they're intending to hire me if I pass the background check (I will), but I know these checks can be expensive so like would they commit that money if they didn't intend to hire me? I've asked and they sort of dodged the question.

The problem is, if I want to take the second job, I have about 24 hours now to respond to the offer. I asked again, over e-mail, if the first job intends to hire me if I pass the security check. That was last night, no response yet.
