https://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/fallout-76/critic-reviews

If this were any non-AAA studio the reviews would be hovering between 4-6 and maybe one or two sites would still be trying to finish it to release their review.

Here we have shit sites like IGN saying "oh yeah we're level 35 in the game but it wouldn't be fair to drop the review just yet" or Gamespot with its "I'm gonna finish it first before I push my review out but I can tell you the only reason I'm having fun is because it's Fallout"

Like holy shit these companies are worse than political campaigns.

I don't. And I hate video game websites these days in general. But I hate that they're always so quick to get reviews out... until it comes to this shit.

Battlefield 5 technically hasn't even been fully released yet and it already has 32 reviews up.

It is an MMO, does it have an end?
And they do have deadlines m8.

It's not really an MMO, it's just an online survival game like Sea of Thieves or DayZ, except when you die you just keep all your stuff. And I guess there is a central quest to it, besides all the MMO-style quests.

I think it's better for them to get a review out when they feel ready instead of rushing it to be first or to meet a deadline.

I don't think Fallout 76 had early copies for reviewers.

I also don't think it will review that well when it does happen.

That is a novel and legitimate concept. When it's applied fairly to all products.

I don't think Fallout 76 had early copies for reviewers.

The beta *was* the final product.

I also don't think it will review that well when it does happen.

I don't have faith in some of these bigger sites to be honest. I see the lowest them going is 7. These idiots have absolutely no objective criteria off which to base their decisions, it's all about nostalgia and "I like fallout and pip boy lol!!"

Bethesda doesnt give review codes until launch day. Even from journalists, the reception has not been positive.

You are whining over nothing

have I just been in a coma for the past month cause I swear it seemed like the game came out in beta just last week
even then bethesda deserves all the shit they're inevitably gonna get for trying to push a game in a worse state than minecrafts official release for a full 60 smackaroos

As it stands I have a few beefs with some systems and I have definitely run into some classic Bethesda bugs, but Im having a good time in spite of those things

Ive just hit level 25 and Im still discovering new enemies, monsters, creatures, and nightmares Ive never seen in a Fallout game. Which is great, because I was concerned that Fallout 76 was going to be an easy list of chores and places to see.

For great stretches of time I'm having a lot of fun in Fallout 76. It's a huge, interesting, comically violent world to inhabit. I'm not really invested the main quest, but several side quests have been intriguing, and ignoring quests and just exploring is rewarding, too. Bugs and optimization and lack of options aside (and that's quite frankly a lot to set aside), I'm having a good time. It's a huge, busy world full of diversions and distractions.

Right now, Fallout 76 feels like a game I can occasionally dive into and find that zen in looting and scrapping. That's what I play survival games for, that slow burn of reconstituting the world in your image. Fallout 76 isn't bereft of that feeling, but it also goes out of its way to put roadblocks in my way. Perhaps as I get farther in, those roadblocks will lessen. [15 hour impressions]

I'm ultimately enjoying Fallout 76. Yes, the game's systems push back every opportunity they get and that's oftentimes frustrating. This is certainly the entry that strays furthest from what people loved about Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. But Fallout has created a universe where every region's history is worth learning. It holds true for West Virginia, even if I can't shake the feeling that this will be the least memorable of Fallout's stories. Well, unless you and your friends create your own memories.

Fallout 76 is peak Bethesda: shonky graphics, dumb artificial intelligence, fluctuating frame rate, and an insect house full of bugs. Ugly character creator, terrible animation, horribly loose combat its all here. But whats unfortunately not here is the charm and intrigue that makes you want to immerse yourself in a world, regardless of its aesthetic shortcomings.

For some reason only the PS4 reviews in progress actually seem to consistently slam on it. In the interest of fairness there are a few PC reviews that are less flattering, but nothing outright harsh.

Yeah they did a "BETA test" like two weeks ago... by that time discs are being pressed and shit is getting shipped out, so it's hardly fair to call it a beta xfd.

This is probably the worst time to be doing reviews, with game of the year and all coming up. I'm sure 76 got put on the backburner from most review sites.
