Most of their actual solders in Iraq and Syria are dead or captured, and I can't imagine they will be many more "inspired by ISIS" attacks in the Western World any time soon.

We beat ISIS, we beat al-Queda. Now I guess it's just finishing the military operations against the Taliban in Afghanistan. The other groups, like al-Shabab are too minor to seemingly pose much of a threat.

Of course, there always be some new group that springs up in the next few years.

What's the ETA on that caravan, anyway? I know probably nothing much will happen, because lol the midterms are over, but I'm curious. Didn't they stop for a while in Mexico?

How about the Lithuanians?

@TheREALDonaldTurnip. This Arvyas Sabonis is dangerous. Very tall in terms of height. Very bad, very dangerous. Believe me.

If you would like to learn more, check out the Institute for Economics and Peace's Terrorism Index. The 2018 report is due to be published soon but you can check out last year's here http://visionofhumanity.org/app/uploads/2017/11/Global-Terrorism-Index-2017.pdf Global Terrorism peaked in 2014 but stil remains at historically high levels.

I appreciate your optimism, I really do but we've been trying to finish off the taliban for 17 years now and they're as pwoerful and deadly as ever. al-Shabab might be minor now but they could grow, al-Queda were once small time too.

What made ISIS unique was. Actually there were two things unique about them. One, they tried to be an actual nation state as opposed to being a fanatical group that controlled a nation. Ie. the Taliban never claimed to be the embodiment of Afghanistan, they just ruled it. Two, their ability to attack and inspire foriegn nationals, many from wealthy nations, to join their cause.

The second is the most interesting because it demonstrates that terrorists are just not the poor and disenfranchised trying to gain power, but individuals deeply alienated from society with divine or radical political inspiration. I really don't know how we solve either of those issues.

ISIS is basically done right now tbh

The next big terrorist threat to keep an eye on is extreme right wing terrorism or white supremacists

They both seem to have been rising more and more over the last few years (golly I wonder why)

I recall them giving ISIS their best wishes and blessings.

They mainly stay local to parts of Africa, but they're still a terror organization that needs to be destroyed.

But that would require us invading Africa since Africa can't seem to deal with them.

it'll be china's issue since they're colonizing africa. their mass internment of muslims will likely do them no favors though...
