It's kind of like how family guy has become more and more like a parody of itself. Still a good series but I can't keep up. I started with the 1st game on ps2, so it makes sense Im more burned out than most. I got Y0 in my backlog for when I find the mood again

Yeah the 0/K fighting offered a lot more freedom of choice in how you approach a combat. K2 (much like 6) strips it down. You have some options but not nearly as much.

I'm interested to see what they're planning for the combat in Judge Eyes.

The two Kiwami games are quite guilty of that. As they're remakes they maintain their original story but pile on top more goofy stuff.

Yakuza 6, for example, isn't quite as guilty of it.

Kiwami 2 is pretty great so far, but a lot of the substories are really short and dull. Like some of them are literally like 'talk to a dude and fight another dude and it's over', or 'give X item to this person and it's over'. I'd say about half of them are actually interesting and entertaining while the other half are just really simple fetch quests or fights >_>

idk, but as a bakka gaijin American, I cannot wrap my head around Mahjong and Shogi at all. That sidequest where I have to beat 3 other dudes in Mahjong is going to be impossible for me >_>

Interesting. I couldn't get into Kiwami cause I felt the story I loved so much in the original was taking a backseat to everything else. I enjoyed 5 but I never finished the last chapter >_<. I kind of just started accepting that the series wasn't for me anymore. I still have fond memories of the 1st 5 games. It's one my favorite series and Kiryu is probably my favorite protagonist of all time.

No word. I think most of the localization effort at Sega/Atlus is on the new Judge Eyes game, and that's fine by me. I'd rather have a new game first.

You can still play Y3/4/5 right now if you have a PS3.

Yeah the first game was a pretty serious gangster story with tons of twists and turns like old friends getting pregnant with the wrong crew, caring for her daughter that people are constantly trying to harm or kidnap due to her value as a hostage, just all around seeing the world Kazuma knew suddenly so backwards. You wouldn't expect half the wacky stuff in the first game because it'd be so out of place. But after he gets over some of the hump, it's nice to see him to crazy things
