Reddit has a upvote system which is just cancerous and makes people compete for attention, and people are usually huge douchebags on places like 4chan due to anonymity. Gamefaqs is generally better because it lacks both of these things.

Also tumblr isn't bad either tbh. People say it's bad due to SJW's and snowflakes but I never really encountered that sorta thing, They let you do and say more things than you could on facebook or twitter. I think part of that is because it's owned by Yahoo and they're probably not big enough of a company yet to care about advertisers on their websites.

4chan has a decent anon system, where you can still keep track of the op and such.


Now that I think about it that won't be the case much longer with 4channel now.

I prefer upvotes. Its probably the most efficient way of handling trolls short of heavy handed moderation because for the most part people figure out who is there to aggravate everyone for attention, so they get downvoted into oblivion and you dont have to worry about filtering them. Its got problems and on super large subreddits can make things unreadable, but in smaller and medium sized communities its a pretty effective tool

As I have long said gamefaqs should have a vote and down vote system but it should NOT effect which posts are seen. Posts should remain in the same order they were posted but just have an option to like or dislike the post
