I've been playing it steadily since release, and I discover new shit every day even in areas of the map I've already visited.

The map itself is huge. It's supposed to represent several different states, namely Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana and does so well, but it also feels just a little compressed. After a certain point, you're free to do whatever you want. You're not limited in activities from the get-go, unlike GTA V Story Mode (where you have to go with the story before you can access the entirety of the activities). New random encounters and stranger events will pop up as you progress through the story.

There's a lot to do, some of which you'll ever happen upon as you play or will discover through missions. That said, I do want to say that the game sort of expects that you'll focus on the story and not go off exploring as certain missions feature activities in a way as if you were doing this for the first time, such as hunting bison with Charles, despite the possibility that you may have already hunted bison before.

Even still, there's a lot to see and do. Being a completionist, I'm currently just trying to finish the compendium and "gold" enough missions. Unfortunately, the game is set up so that you need to achieve every requirement to get gold during each mission, in comparison with GTA V Story Mode, where you could complete certain objectives on one playthrough, replay the mission, and achieve the rest (so you're not frantically making sure you've done it all and racing around).

Not a lot no but the game has some decent side content I suppose. The world certainly feels alive to. It's the only open world game I can think of that lets you interact with pedestrians in such a way that they feel something more than window dressing. I also love the story.
