I count MM as dystopian because everyone's aware the world is ending.

Yeah but it isn't a dystopian hyrule so it counts. Also Minish Cap.

did the flashback or whatever when you get to hyrule cause an apocalypse? i remember something about hyrule being underwater but i forgot some stuff.

but i think dystopian just means the world is shit, unpleasant, bleak etc. i didn't get that vibe in wind waker.

edit: and i guess by hyrule i'm referring to the whole game world.

Hyrule is literally under the water of the entire sea you sail on. Wind Waker takes place hundreds of years after the goddesses flooded Hyrule to protect from Ganondorf.

They should make a Zelda set in a technologically advanced Hyrule where people live modern lives, and Ganon comes back as a Trump like Presidential candidate.

I actually had a concept where Ganondorf is the corrupt CEO of a very powerful corporation, Zelda is the spoiled daughter of the mayor/governor/President (any of it works), and Link works for Ganondorf's company as a lackey until he discovers a major secret that links the three of them and has to go on the run.
