What I mean is people vote the way they predict, and people predict based on popularity. So if there were no bracket prediction contest, people would be more likely to vote for underdogs.

Do you agree?

That is probably a factor, but probably not as big of one as you are thinking.

For example, mega man was favored over pikachu. But pikachu won the site vote enough to win even though he lost the pure vote count. People voting brackets would have voted mega man.

I guess crazy stuff happens regardless so it's fine. This Snake/Zelda battle is nuts, Snake has a 12 vote lead at the moment and they each have over 10000, that's the closest I've seen in my life so far.
