All this genetic testing stuff has been around for a while, it's just a fad right now

In college my professor said that these tests, human and dog, don't actually tell you what percentage race/breed you are, they tell you the chance you have of being that race

So if your test says "you're 2% native american!" it's actually "you have a 98% chance of being a regular white guy and a 2% chance of native american"

I don't know if that's true, but that's what my genetics professor said

they've been doing genetic testing for dogs for years TC. hell you realize that dog breeding is the modern day eugenics movement right? its real important to them.

I'm currently studying health and biology so of course this is known, but I was pointing out the commercialization factor and how average customers with money to burn can have access to kits now compared to like 15-20 years ago when there were long registration waitlists as well as high costs.

Also, it's $50 more than the human testing kits. Thought that was funny too.
