My mom and majority of my aunts, uncles, mentors, etc. are 60+ years old. Kinda morbid but I know in the next 10-20 years I might be attending a string of funerals. On the flip-side, various college friends from several years ago have been getting married and/or having kids. The cycle repeats.

I am turning 40 in a few months. All four of my grandparents are gone. My dad and brother are gone. All I really have left are my mom and a few aunts/uncles/cousins. My mom is 64 and not in the best health, so I may not have her too much longer either.

Getting old fucking sucks.

People worry so much about age. It's just a number. The key is to stay even mildly active which is why you see 70 year olds skiing and 40 year old blobs on the couch that can't even breathe normally. Use it or lose it, ya know?

Like 5 or 6 people I was/am(?) friends with or went to school with have died before 25. I feel like that's an uncanny number of people, but I've never asked anyone else about stuff like that.

5 or 6 out of how many total? It wouldn't be so odd if you're talking about a group of 50 people. People die young more often than you might think. It's sad, but a lot of cemeteries have a "kids section" where only kids are buried. It's really depressing going through that section.
