Im hitting up the Mages Guilds immediately from the sewers, so I can get started building up the more mage-y aspects of my mage. Once I get to spellcrafting Ill get goin into the main quest a bit.

You may know this but the Finger of the Mountain spell you can get is levelled. Meaning the higher level you are the more powerful it will be when you get it. I even think it's possible to get too powerful where you won't even be able to cast it but I'm not sure, it's been awhile.

Yeah that spell is really stupid. It costs almost double to even more than double what it would cost to cast a custom spell with the same values. At level 26+ it costs an massive 3551 magicka to cast, a custom spell that deals the same 200 points of shock damage in a 10 foot area would only cost you 1547.

Actually in vanilla custom spells can't have a value higher than 100 (or 120 for duration). The strongest 2 versions of Finger of the Mountain do 140 and 200 points of Shock damage instantly, but that does not justify their unreasonably exorbitant cost. On the other hand the Wizard's Fury spell you get through the Mage's Guild is really good, costing almost half as much as an identical custom spell. It's not the strongest spell but it is very efficient.

Not the level 1-4 version of it, it's the same cost as making an identical version, but it deals so little damage that it doesn't matter anyway

Gonna install Oblivion on PC now. I hope you're happy TC.

Never got too far in the game even though I played like 100 hours over-all. I just went and explored in random directions and did random shit lol. My favorite was cheesing through the arena to get a bunch of good gear.

I just went through all of Vilverin for the first time. At least I think it was all of it. I probably missed some rooms. I killed the Necromancer. The zombies were scary as fuck and hard to kill. Got a bunch of Welkynd Stones and a Varla Stone. The Varla Stone is supposedly worth 1000 gold. Holy shit!

Should I keep it or sell it? I also found an Ayleid Statue that could get me 250 gold. Gonna actually play through some of the main quest for the first time now lol.

I'm a Dark Elf with The Shadow birthsign and Nightblade class lol. Level 2.

You have to sell it regularly first, iirc. Then he gets it and contacts you about finding the rest for him.

Or you can actually just find him and sell it to him for more. Im not actually sure if there are any rumors or anything pointing you towards him though. As Proudclad, glad youre enjoying it, Nightblades are fun.

the problem is that im stuck with just a Dremora Mace even though my blunt damage is really low

and all these Darth Maul looking motherfuckers keep coming after me. so i basically have to limp along with the mace and Heal Minor Wounds and whenever i have a chance to wait 24 hours i can use Moonshadow and Ancestor Guardian lol

You can turn the difficulty slider down a bit if enemies are too tough.

Greatest issue with these games is that I can't stick with one character long enough. I've never beat the main quest in any of the three.

My Oblivion Dunmer Assassin (who actually had a good-looking face if my memory is forever remains in that Mage Tower for the Thieves' Guild inside my old 360 hard drive. I started an Altmer Mage in Oblivion that I got some progress on haven't touched.

My Altmer Mage in Morrowind got a good deal through the main quest but I had to abandoned the save as I no longer desired to use the graphics overhaul as I'm pretty close to being a purest. I had a Dunmer Warrior that was pretty established with Redoran and the Temple but I have no idea what possessed me to delete him.

And I simply have too many Skyrim characters to count.

I was going to start a new play through as Marth use mostly swords and bows, but then I say "nah" and made a red Dark Elf instead who specialises in single hand. I gave him the warrior class. Probably won't be a good build...

I actually miss the days when games like Oblivion and Skyrim were new and challenging. Frustrating at the time, but at least exciting.

If it gets too hard just use the Ring of Khajiit and make some equipment to have 100+% invisibility.

as a tip, high damage/short DOT spells are highly inefficient

it's MUCH more efficient to use a spell that does 10ish damage per second for 5ish seconds in an AoE, after a chain of weakness to magic->weakness to element AoE spells

add in a paralysis (duration 1s) effect to the chain and theyll keep falling down during it

ideally you stack them as much as you can to last for 10ish seconds and cast the actual damage spell at the end of that stack
