I can see how it comes across as cherry picking. But I was pointing out that when he said black wealth was declining it was. And there is no indication that it has evened back out.

My link had the same info yours did. If you look at the bottom you will see that it shows that AA income has been on the rise.

I mean I'm not going to make any broad predictions or pronouncements on the trend of things based on just a year or two of evidence when the longer-run evidence shows something entirely different. Black people are seeing their incomes grow much faster in the top 20% of the tax bracket, much faster than whites. And the same is true of educational achievement.

And this all goes back to how there's mountains of evidence on how things are getting better in the long run rather than worse.

There's not much.

Yes there is. The majority of millionaires are self-made (IE no inheritance, no loans from parents, etc). 12% percent of the population will find themselves in the top 1 percent of the income distribution for at least one year. 39% of Americans will spend a year in the top 5 percent of the income distribution, 56% will find themselves in the top 10 percent, and a whopping 73 percent will spend a year in the top 20% of the income distribution.

https://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/20/opinion/sunday/from-rags-to-riches-to-rags.html

It's easy to retire a millionaire in America and it's easy to not fuck up your life and to land a median wage job in pretty much every state.

Also note that the really high and rapid increase in income is what matters most, because how people choose to spend their money can affect their total wealth. There's no reason to expect people to have the same amount of wealth. Not even different groups of white people have the same wealth. Say, Romanians vs Germans. There's going to be a disparity there too.

shut the fuck up Proudclad, this topic is about dinner now

I had subway. They have this new garlic bread thing. It's not a new type of bread, they just spread a garlic paste on the roll. It's delicious, but very salty and rich. I couldn't even finish half of a foot long in one sitting, which is good because it was like $10, so more leftovers = better.

Anyone else try this yet?

As much as I don't like proudclad posts, I find people purposefully derailing his topics to be far worse when they can simply ignore (not the feature) him.

I'd have to agree. It's like the people want to argue with him, but don't actually want to argue with him, but goddamnit, they can't just ignore the topic, they have to do something!
