But I never win. Ive been to plenty of the Christmas parties (though I usually avoid them). I always play the raffle. And always lose... But one year, we are sure there was some cheating since lots of the people setting it up won. And won multiple prizes. And other than them, their friends were winners. Well, Good Luck me! I guess...

At my job if you work the raffle you can't play or win. That should be common sense.

It should be. But they are pretty trusting here... they have a bunch of stuff. And the way it works is different this year. They have a bunch of prizes. You buy raffle tickets and put them in the bucket of the prize you want. So, you might have a better chance of winning prizes you want. You can buy a bunch of tickets to stuff one. Or split them up so you have a chance at all of them. I want to win anything. But I think Im hoping for an echo dot. Either color. But they split them up. I think I want the black more. But any prize will make me happy. Multiple prizes, too.

30 tickets, no prizes. One guy bought 50. None of the big prizes. But he won 5 little ones. 5 free cups of coffee...

Also, it seemed like anyone who won usually won more than 1 prize...

Always happens. At a pub once when I went and watched the WWE Royal Rumble for that year we had a option of paying 1 and pulling a name out of a jar as for our pick on who would win it. The winner got the 30 made from selling the names(30 entered in the RR). Low and behold the person who won was actually related to the person running the thing thus got the prize. Apparently this wasn't the first time too.

I would. But you have to know who the cheaters are ahead of time. Idk most of the people who worked it this time... Still new-ish to the group. But maybe next year...

Ive pretty much tried the raffle at every Christmas party I go to (Except the one where I baby sat for the guest in a little shack close to the party). But have never won. Every year, I say no more. But I still do it...

I work for a property developer in London. I was talking to a colleague the other day about how once a year the CEO should run a raffle across the entire company where the prize is the lowest priced house we have in stock.

Honestly people would get so into the raffle hed probably make more money from the fucking raffle than from selling it on the open market.

I used to work at a call center, taking reservations for Choice Hotels.
Sometimes they'd have "random" drawings for prizes that hotel owners would send, and it was the same pool of 10 or so people that would win everything. Somehow, it was always the ones that had worked there for years and were popular with the managers. Funny how that works.
