Instead of paying the extra $15 (or $30) on any Amazon device, just be polite and ask Amazon; they'll remove it for free. I've done this with all my Amazon products (two Kindles, three Fires). Here's my latest chat log with my newest Fire 10 device (names changed for privacy):
Me: I have couple Fires without special offers and just got a Fire 10 with special offers. Can I swap the "special offers" from these devices so that I don't have any special offers on my Fire 10? *EDIT*: The topic title should be corrected: Pro Tip: You can ask to remove ads on your Amazon devices for free. --- ... Obviously YMMV. I'm an above average Amazon customer*, spending $48k in the past 12 years there ($5.2k YTD).
