You know, I still haven't seen Tora! Tora! Tora!. I tried watching it on at least one occasions, but apparently, I didn't deserve subtitles. :( I wasn't cool enough for them. Perhaps it was because I called Korosawa average some other time.

I forget to include FMJ on my list. Very good film, especially the final scene on the first half. He really suck it to the man.

I like FMJ up until they actually leave for war, I don't think it's actually very good once it goes over to Vietnam.

I chose not to include it in my post because it goes off in its own artsy direction too much (after all it is a adapted version of the story of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness but set during the Vietnam War), though there are certainly specific parts of the movie that are great war scenes. Especially the Ride of the Valkyries scene.

The Pianist is pretty good. Paths of Glory was good, but it would've been MUCH better if, at the beginning, the general had actually used the heavy guns on the soldiers. Best black comedy ever.

Downfall isn't REALLY a war film, TBQH. And despite the fact the Third Reich and Hitler are fascinating, it was actually a little bit boring to watch. That rant scene gave us many happy moments on YouTube, though. I like the one where Hitler's ranting about the USS Odyssey got destroyed. Poor dude. ;_;

The Deer Hunter.

Fun fact, all those revolvers had real bullets in them (which were of course checked by a gun expert to not be in the firing chamber before each scene), so the actors being scared shitless was genuine.

Russia's "The 9th Company" is a really really good one, though it does embellish the truth a little bit. I'd say it's the Russian equivalent of Full Metal Jacket in style, story and pacing (you have these new recruits going through training and the hardships thereof and then deploying to Afghanistan and everything they face there).
