How? How did it do so well

First of all did you permit stuff that isn't originally from a video game? AM originated in a short story

but then second of all like... okay, so I watched the restupurae video series on the game I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, so I'm aware of Allied Mastercomputer, but why was everyone else voting for it? And do you guys actually like the character?

Fun contest, even though I didn't care for the final too much. Always enjoyed the match pics especially.

AM managed to beat several of my all time favorite characters but I actually like AM a lot, for both the short story and game.

Sorry I didn't mean to say that I thought you were being that way! I didn't mean it that way when I quoted, I just realized that I could have come across as "ugh people don't REALLY like AM do they"

i don't know the character AM but in rounds 2-5 it faced four characters in a row i don't even slightly like so i might have ended up voting for it. though i think i just abstained from those matches.

anyway, great final and great winner. the match pics especially were excellent all contest.

As I said in the final match topic, I nominated both of the finalists for the sitewide contest, so it was really good to see both of them do well in this at least. Good choices everyone that voted. Hopefully both get enough noms to make it in next time!

I did know Missile was reasonably well liked, but runner up here and jointly winning the tag team contest was a pretty good effort. I still think Missile could have done reasonably with the right bracket placement this time in the main contest, even being largely unknown outside of Board 8 on match pics alone. You can't get a bad pic of Missile. CATS is a champ though - glad to see him win, even after all these years!

If Mimikyu vs Ditto had happened, would you have put the Ditto face over the fake Pikachu face or the holes cut out of the costume for Mimikyu's eyes?
