This was a tough one for me....but I voted Republican for a few reasons:

1) Gun control. Yes, many Democrats are pro 2nd amendment, but Republicans are still the main.

2) Level of government intrusion on our lives. Again, this was difficult, because both parties are guilty of intruding into our lives. Democrats seem to be better when it comes to things like criminal justice, gay rights, and drug laws. However, Republicans are starting to come around on these issues. Also, Republicans generally want less regulations and taxes. Not always, of course.

3) Overall honesty. Questionable for both parties, obviously, especially when looking at specific incidents of who says what. But with Republicans, I feel like you know what they're going to give you, and they don't beat around that very much. They aren't going around (as much) and talking about how they're going to make lives better for minorities, how they're going to solve all these problems for poor people, and stuff like that. Instead, they just say "Hey, here's a system we believe in. Whether you are successful in it is up to you". Democrats, on the other hand, seem to be constantly making promises in these regards..."we're going to establish this program that will make everyone's lives magically better"...and then it never does. They are just so much more disappointing in that aspect.

What do you guys think?

Republican if I had to choose. Im not that into identity politics. I prefer the republicans because they have a much better grasp at economics plus limited government and accountability is their thing and I value the personap freedom

Democrats

Be it positions on social issues, the role of government in society, and just general honesty and ethics/goodwill

I have literally nothing in common with the Republican Party lol

I've read your posts and this seems about right. It's cool, though. Everyone has different values.

I feel like this falls into the honesty category. I don't think Democrats are less bigoted, but rather they are just better at making themselves look like they are less bigoted.

I mean if someone is personally bigoted, but never says anything bigoted, pursues policies that aren't bigoted, and doesn't openly take steps to disenfranchise people they dislike, then I'd say they're less bigoted than someone who acts openly tbh

White identity politics won him the presidency

Anyway after the last few years examples of republican corruption and just hateful behavior no way I'd ever vote for those scumfucks. It'd be nice if there were more than two parties but whatever
