I just can't believe Sora has an actual chance. I need.

I kind of doubt it. Sora probably has his rights wrapped up with Disney, so there'd be a three-way cut on DLC revenue instead of a two-way one. It's not like Square is wanting for characters to put in as DLC.

Sora is such an unlikely character. Like if you look at the spirits in world of light its like this huge party of all different game companies, and there's literally nothing from Square. Konami, Namco, Sega, Indies, have tons of music and square has two unremixed songs.

I personally really hope its not sora (not just because he's a bad character) because the money Nintendo spent on him could probably give us three characters from other companies.

So I did end up going to the autograph session and met Xander Mobius. I asked him when he found out about Joker being in Smash and he said he did the voice work for the trailer about three weeks ago. Kind of interesting to note. That would have been two weeks or so after they announced the DLC choices were finalized...

My theory is this: the Fighters Pass will be all 3rd-party, but in addition to Piranha Plant there will be one or two extra 1st/2nd party characters (I mean, Edelgard is pretty much confirmed to not be in the Fighters Pass and if you think Nintendo isn't going to push to include her, or if Sakurai is going to ignore her, you're crazy).

My guess is Sora is a lock at this point. Steve's odds probably just went up as well.

On the flip side, even though I still think Sakurai is still sticking to the "must have appeared on a Nintendo system" rule, imagine the insanity if Nathan Drake was the first ever exception? I'd die.

Furthermore, my super-wild incredibly-out-there just-insane-enough-to-happen pick for the final DLC character (Fighters Pass or not) is Sakurai.

I still don't think we're going to see Steve - I think they know there'd be too much of a backlash and they won't want to create ill will - regardless of whether or not it's actually deserved (I would not personally want to see Steve but it won't make me fly into a rage like it would for some people)

I don't think we're going to see Sora because that involves both Square AND Disney getting on board and Square by themselves are already obviously a pain in the ass, given how little FF content there is in Smash.
