If a part is too hard, I'll do it sometimes but not if it's a skip glitch.

Otherwise, I avoid them becauae it takes the fun out, unless I'm just goofing around on like my third playthrough.

Depends on the game, but usually I won't because it ruins the sense of accomplishment.

One thing I'm very particular about is Pokemon. I'm fine with using the "Trainer Fly" glitch in R/B/Y to get Mew and using PKSM to get event tickets for Pokemon, but actually generating or editing Pokemon for stats/natures/shininess/etc. is off limits.

glitches I'm not a fan of.

using "broken" mechanic is a bit hazier and case-specific. "Accidentally awesome" is one thing, whereas "was supposed to be 10%, but is actually 100%" is less so.

if it's not OP, I don't mind doing it if it frees up an additional skill point or a little extra cash like the barter glitch in Fallout 1 (people have limited supply of bottlecaps anyway)

I tried to use a clipping glitch to skip the engine room in Banjo kazooie but getting the glitch to work was harder than just doing the room as intended

I've beaten Uncharted 2 twice using the glitch in the final boss fight. It was just too much of a pain in the ass to try and do it the normal way

Back when Monster Hunter World first came out on PS4 there was a game-breaking glitch for a few hours (you could duplicate any jewel which can have extremely low drop rates) and I knew about it pretty early and didn't do it. As soon as I confirmed they fixed it I told the group I was playing with and they got SO mad at me. But I wasn't gonna help them cheat either get fucked.

I generally don't on purpose. I like to abuse glitches to fuck around, but not to progress. I glitched king dice by accident in Cuphead the first time I beat him and the win felt cheap as a result.

I consider it fair game in challenge runs, though still prefer to avoid it if possible.

I don't use it on first runthroughs but I've never picked the hardest mode first either. Ill usually save the exploits for that.

This. Also, I personally won't use cheats/glitches/hacks/exploits until I've cleanly beaten the game without them first. For future playthroughs, I'll use them to experiment with stuff and do gimmicky runs, like using glitches in the older Pokemon games or hacking a character's class to something entirely different in a Fire Emblem game.

I used the ogma infinium glitch in skyrim because fuck trying to level up the crap magic skills. Other than that, I've never felt the need.
