With real board/card games, there is usually some type of strategy you can think about while the others complete their turn. Ive seen people call Smash a platform fighter, and that makes perfect sense. Its a fighting game but it has elements of platformers as well (even has some platforming mini games) --- From the depths, the thing they called Worm King did rise.
