Plenty of games do it, not limited to games like Rocket League and Rainbow Six Siege. However, the way they do it is on the menu screen where there is basically a section that says "Here's the latest content you can buy". I think that's the way to do it where it fits into the game just fine.

Rocket League shoe horns their ads into the actual game as well

Eh thats true but it merges far better into the game than the way post 70 shows the way Street Fighter might. Especially considering the game is in an arena anyway.

I would probably agree if it was other brands, but the fact that it's other Capcom stuff makes it not feel out of place to me

Anyway I dont think these ads are all that bad currently, since they are related to the game and additional content. Certainly a lot better than FF15s product placement ads for Coleman and Cup Noodle.

Yeah, I'm fine with Street Fighter 2. It might not have online multiplayer, but it's ad free.

Also, the demo itself is inheriently an ad. They dont need to put ads inside their ad like its some sort of shitty adception corporate wet dream

There is literally no penalty. If you don't want to see them, turn them off and it's literally business as usual. You aren't getting anything more or less than you would have normally gotten.

There is literally no penalty. If you don't want to see them, turn them off and it's literally business as usual. You aren't getting anything more or less than you would have normally gotten.

I think a lot of games advertise new content in game, including CoD.

I'm 100% fine with it if it's limited to the menu screen or if it doesn't really look out of place in game (Such as the way there is some light advertisement in game in Rocket League).

It happens to simultaneously be one of the best and least expensive places to advertise it.

But I definitely draw the line at the way they seem to be planning to do it, assuming they are literally putting it on people's clothes and putting it in backgrounds that just makes it look tacky and way out of place. Post 70 has pics of how they supposedly plan to implement it.

Assuming thats whats going on, then theyre just giving you a bonus for having ads. Its like in this old Plants vs Zombies game. You can watch a video during the game. If you choose to so so, you get a really good weapon; if not, nothing changes and the game is just normal.
