Originally, the daughter was kicked off the school bus because she was bullying another kid. As punishment to the daughter, the dad forced her to walk to school for being a bully and followed her in his car and recorded it. The video in question:

In cases like these it's about drawing attention to the parent more than it is about punishing the child.

The punishment is fine, but it's funny how he says bullying isn't tolerated while he's recording her punishment to post it on the internet.

I am fine with the punishment on its own. Walking is not that bad and he is following her so she isn't in danger. However, bullying is usually a result of not having a proper home life or good role models. And his attitude in the video about children and privilege really gives off a vibe that suggests he is to blame for her poor behavior in the first place.

Barely even a punishment. I walked that far to school everyday for 4 years of High School.

Not saying the father should do something more harsh to her, but that's just good exercise.

Parents aren't the sole reason kids go bad. They are a huge part no doubt but she could of picked it up from several different places

I guarantee you she won't be bullying anyone for a long time. Good on the dad

Yes. This video went viral. It will affect her as it shows her in a negative light. Its possible her peers start mocking her for it. Teach them right. The punishment is fine, but continuing the cycle wont help shit. Its like parents who record themselves destroying their childrens belongings as punishment. Its as bad as the instagram morons who do stupid shit for attention.

All this judgement with no solution.

My solution wouldn't be to punish her at all. Punishment is a deterrent only due to the fear of consequence. It doesn't actually address the real problem or teach children anything beyond "respect authority unquestionably"(which is a sentiment I do not agree with). I would figure out why she is bullying other kids and address the real issue, rather than slap a bandaid on it and call it a day.

I'm understanding you as "She's just misunderstood and once we have an understanding I'm sure we can get her to stop bullying with no punishment". This is literally worst than "Go to your room".

Thats a bit dramatic. A viral video like this, however, can definitely lead to her being bullied and teased. Some might say eye for an eye but how does that solve the issue? We shouldnt be encouraging that, especially when it comes at the hands of their parents. Making her walk to school for getting kicked off the bus route makes sense. Trying to gain clout by posting it on FB was bad parenting.
