Are they easy to hack? Do roms work with them or are there compatibility issues with the built in emulator? >_>

I have a snes but too scared to hack. I think I would fuck it up and break it.

Adding games is simple but if you want to add covers it can get tricky.
Not all games work with the built-in emulator but you can install a secondary one that runs basically everything and is seamless with the official UI.
USB issues are common but easy to fix.

Once it's all set up it's super easy to add and remove games though.

It's extremely easy to do and works with any ROM afaik. Very low chance of messing anything up but you can make a backup incase you do.

Super easy to crack and most games should work.

I know that downloading a 'bios' file is illegal no matter what, and that's the reason that emulating is considered illegal regardless of whether you actually own the physical version of the game.. Would it be seen as legal in this case if you're merely using backups of games you actually own on the SNES mini?

it's plug and play. some russian dude already put the tools up on github. it's about as easy as putting music on your phone by plugging it into the USB on your PC.

the hardest part is finding the contraband.

They're about to get rare again. Reggie said they'd only produce until the end of this year for the holiday season so once the current stock is gone its gone for good. And there's no switch snes option right now (for some reason) so this will be the last chance to get one.

This time next year I imagine the price will skyrocket again to the 120-150 range again.

Bought the snes, gonna get a nes now.

The newer versions of the nes classic have 2 controllers now, right? Are they longer?

The one I bought last month still has one controller and a short cord. Thankfully I have a Wii controller extension for this problem. You could also just use the SNES classic controller or a Wii classic controller for it.

My question is why buy it if you already own the SNES one? When modded, It can do the same thing as the NES classic and much more(self game play demos, rewind function). Just to have one, I'm assuming?

i think they're still 30"

i'm pretty sure the nes mini will work w/ the snes controllers since they're the same port. i might be wrong though.
